Remarks of "Men" star, Jones, were disrespectful

Although I'm not a fan of the show Two and a Half Men, a recent controversy with one of the
stars on the show, 19-year-old Angus T. Jones, caught my attention this past week.
Jones, a recently converted born-again Christian was being interviewed by Christopher Hudson,
a pastor who runs the faith-based website Forerunner Chronicles. It also happens that Hudson is
Jones' pastor.
In the first part of the issue, Jones explains how he came to Hollywood, the effect fame had on
his behavior, his drug use and how he came to find his faith. In the second part of the interview,
things get a little more interesting.
Jones started to bash his own show by calling it "moral filth" and pleaded viewers not to watch
it. He also said he didn't want to be on the show anymore because it collides with his religious
beliefs.
Fast-forward to the next day, and Jones issued an apology.
One would think that if you apologize, you're sorry and feel bad about what you did. But his
apology did not seem very sincere to me.
All he did was apologize to his co-workers and the crew after throwing them under the bus and
thanking them for the opportunity that they've given him, not for any of his other statements.
While Jones and I may have different opinions regarding religion, I don't really care about the
fact that he's religious. I don't even think religion is the biggest part of what made people turn
against him.
In my opinion, Jones really dropped the ball with his hypocritical statements and kind of lost my
respect.
I don't think this guy realized that by calling his own show "moral filth," he is basically
condemning every person who works for the show, from the cameramen to his co-stars.
These are the people that you've been working with for around ten years, who have chosen you
to be a part of one of the biggest shows on television, and you have the audacity to now judge
them because they're a part of something you don't agree with?
Most importantly, he's going against everything he believes in by continuing to work for the
show.
Granted, Jones may still be under contract, which could turn into a sticky situation, but if you
strongly believe in something, take a stand.
I don't think there's really a point in being involved with something if you don't like it or think
it's wrong. This is what stuck out to me the most.
Also, ironically after all of this drama, Jones is reportedly accepting $350,000 an episode.
One has to wonder, if you consider the show filth, then why are you still accepting money from
it?
If anything, you would think he would at least give away the money to charity. I don't think this
will be the case for him.
Jones had probably one of the best opportunities he could ever get, and he pretty much ruined it
for himself.
I don't know how everything is going to pan out for Jones. All I have to say to him is good luck
finding another job after all of this.
